Grape Harvest Night

13 septembre 2016

« Les Vendanges »

Every two years, Avenue Montaigne and Rue François 1er host their very own Vendanges in September, traditionally the start of the harvest season in French wine country. Created in 1985 on the initiative of Nathalie Vranken, co-owner of champagne house Vranken-Pommery Monopole, La Nuit des Vendanges (Grape Harvest Night) has a festive feel. The Comité Montaigne’s luxury brands join forces with grand cru vineyards to host this upscale event, where visitors sip fine wines and champagne. It has become a highlight of the autumn calendar for Paris high society.

Christmas Montaigne:
Festive lights

In the run-up to Christmas, the quest to find the perfect gift can often feel like a never-ending treasure hunt. The Comité Montaigne puts seasonal cheer back into festive shopping sprees with the Christmas Montaigne event, decking out Avenue Montaigne and Rue François 1er in stylish, imaginative Christmas lights.
Artfully combining modern and traditional themes, this beautiful display is just as eye-catching as the decorations on other famous avenues around the world. Seasonal activities are organized too, so visitors can take time out from the holiday bustle to enjoy a truly magical moment.

Christmas Montaigne:
« Les Sapins de Noël des Créateurs »

As the festive season gets underway, the Comité Montaigne rolls out its Sapins de Noël des Créateurs (Designer Christmas trees) initiative. Since 2014, our fashion houses and guest designers have put their talent and creativity to work every year to concoct a stunning selection of Christmas trees. These creations are displayed at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées for all to admire until they are auctioned off at an annual charity event, with the renowned French oncologist David Khayat as patron. The proceeds go to cancer research.

Single and proud on St Catherine’s Day

The Comité Montaigne’s fashion houses have revived the charming tradition of the ‘Catherinettes’. In times past, on the feast of Saint Catherine in November, 25-year-old women who were still unmarried (known as ‘Catherinettes’) prayed for a husband. These days, at the ‘Catherinettes’ event, 100-odd singles proudly parade on the steps of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
Chanel, Dior, Nina Ricci, Fouquet, Louis Vuitton, Maison Blanche: the Comité Montaigne’s finest fashion houses pour all their creativity and skill into designing striking hats in the traditional St Catherine’s Day colours: green (symbolizing hope and wisdom) and yellow (symbolizing faith). A jury comprising Comité Montaigne members, celebrities and journalists chooses the prettiest hats.

Exhibition of
Exceptional Objects

13 septembre 2016

« Promenade pour un Objet d’Exception »

This ‘stroll to admire exceptional objects’ is an unforgettable experience. Each of our prestigious locations showcases one extraordinary object, chosen – or conceived – especially for the exhibition, be it an exclusive handbag, a genuine artwork, a rare piece from a brand’s archives or a one-off creation. Over the course of a few days, the stores transform into a pop-up art gallery featuring a dazzling display of high-end objects.
Art meets luxury at the Promenade pour un Objet d’Exception event. Initially launched by the Comité Montaigne in March 2012, this one-of-a-kind stroll has become a must-do every September, together with the Comite’s Vendanges event – notably for visitors attending Paris’s ‘Biennale des Antiquaires’ antiques fair, which is also held at this time of year.
